Had the best time tonight…a friend of mine and I set up a spin studio in my garage(along with a tv)…we popped-in a DVD put out by Global Ride called “Hawaii Rides”. Hawaii Rides is a boxed-set of 3 DVDs…featuring 3 very different rides. Had a great time and a fun work-out. We tried about 20 minutes of each of the 3 rides: StrenDurance, Oceanside Ride, and Maui Rollers. My favorite was StrenDurance. Sally Edwards was the “coach” on this ride. I remembered her from the Danskin Triathlon I’d done several years ago. I enjoyed Sally’s cues and picked-up a few things I can use in my spin classes. The pictures/video of Hawaii were beautiful…it was cool! there was a coach talking and a rider biking(which we saw every once and a while) and a moving camera as we “rode” across Hawaii.

I think these “indoor rides” are perfect for anyone who enjoys a cycling work-out indoors. Let’s say you have small children and you cannot get out to ride or to spin class like you want…pop-in a DVD and have a blast. I also think that these workouts will be a perfect winter activity for my triathlon club. I have already planned a group ride at the local community center. We plan to project the DVD onto the wall of the spin room and have a super fun group work-out.
